Norton Antivirus 2010 1-User/3PC Review
Let me begin by saying that I am 65 years old, had used a PC since the first time, and maybe I am set in my ways. However, I have Norton AV since its beginning way back in the 1980s used (each of DOS, or Norton Utilities, Peter Norton is one). I've never had serious problems with the program, but together with him for a long time, I also have an anti-spyware (Webroot Spysweeper now), the Mozilla Foxfire Web browsor (instead of interet Explorer), Internet –Browser, anti-malware add-ons (McAfee Site Advisor) and a backup program (now Norton Ghost). As far as I know, I have never been caught "a virus or other malware when using this combination.
While I have not had problems with NAV and never used their tech support, I read that Norton's tech support is pretty bad, though perhaps better, and the program takes too much disk space. But I've also seen reviews in the magazine that show the most important PCNorton AV as one of the most effective programs available. That's why I stuck with it. And contrary to some opinions, I found that to work, if your annual subscription expired, NAV to continue – just not update the virus definitions to extend the program for another year.
But while I was met with Norton AV, I was not happy with Norton 360, which should be a complete AV, spyware and patron-mail program. I can not remember what myProblems were with him, but when I tried to quickly return to Norton AV and a separate program spyware, etc.
If NAV can be sure to uninstall any other AV programs before you install it (I use Revo Uninstaller to free them). And remember that if you already have a virus on your PC, it is probably too late to do to NAV or any other AV program to help you very well. Alternative to commercial anti-virus or anti-malware, at least for Windows Vista or Windows 7 to download and install the free Microsoft Security Essentials program, a comprehensive anti-malware program. As an experiment, I recently replaced NAV & Webroot Spysweeper with MS Security Essentials. So far so good – the PC feels a bit 'faster than before, thoughthis is an illusion can be.

Advantages: Very fast, easy to install. I had no problems with the installer, as I have with the 2008 version. It has a small footprint.
Cons: Symantec is apparently trying to encourage users to switch to another product. This software is now available for hire. Before the 2009 version, when was your subscription, you can easily be kept current by updating the virus signatures. No problem, it gives you a few weeks cushion in case you forgot to order, too. No longer …. WhenYour subscription has expired, will run the whole engine. Symantec so in their infinite wisdom, believes that it is better that you are completely unprotected when older have a signature file for viruses.
Imagine if your car is guaranteed, and your car just stopped running. Or if the computer is guaranteed that it would not turn over. This is what they did with this product.
There is much competition to do too well in this area at this for your customers.

Requires too many resources to run, slowing my pc way too much. I do not like and which have completely closed the software after the subscription. Previously they could no longer maintain the program without updates …. I've been a customer for a long time, but I think being with other anti-virus once this subscription is over.
